Here’s an inside look at the Tesla Megafactory in Lathrop, California, one of the largest utility-scale battery factories in North America. While you won’t find a Tesla Super Pool here, the factory is capable of producing 10,000 Megapack units each year, equal to 40 GWh of clean energy storage.
Elon Musk is currently hiring employees for the Tesla Megafactory, including manufacturing jobs where you’ll be working alongside giant industrial robots to build thousands of Megapacks. For those who have never heard of a Tesla Megapack, it’s essentially a large-scale rechargeable lithium-ion battery stationary energy storage product designed for use at battery storage power stations. Each one is basically a container the size of the ISO intermodal container, or what companies use to ship things in.
