Bugatti Bolide Hypercar Goodwood Festival of Speed
The track-only Bugatti Bolide hypercar made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week and it looks better than ever. Weighing just 3,196 pounds, thanks to a bespoke carbon fiber body, it’s powered by a mid-mounted, quad-turbocharged 8.0L W16 engine that makes 1,578 hp and 1,365 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox, enabling it to hit 62 mph in a mere 2.17 seconds, while topping out at a blistering 310 mph.

This hillclimb marks the first public appearance for Bugatti’s track-only hypercar, which is limited to only 40-units worldwide. What most fans might not know is that the automaker built the vehicle around its quad-turbo W16 engine, including carefully designed, yet minimal, bodywork that leverages maximum downforce, the most efficient cooling and an exceptional power-to-weight ratio. It also boasts 3D-printed titanium rockers to help create intricately shaped and lightweight components, along with more heat-resistant carbon-carbon brakes for maximum stopping power.

To be behind the wheel of the Bolide as it takes to the hillclimb at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed is an incredible feeling. The Bolide captured the hearts and minds of onlookers at Le Mans last month during its incredible track lap, but to drive this supremely focused and motorsport-inspired Bugatti at the Festival of Speed – on the revered road that is intimately close to spectators – is a very special and unique experience,” said Andy Wallace, Bugatti Pilote Officiel.
