Foodora Air drones are set to launch a food delivery service in Sweden by May, thanks to 5G technology from Tele2. The latter will be used to connect o a number of restaurants on Värmdö, outside Stockholm, while foodora’s technology platform creates a seamless and efficient delivery experience.
These electric drones have a 13 mi (21 km) range and emit just 2 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, which can be compared to traditional gasoline or diesel-powered delivery vehicles that emit 143 and 110 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, respectively. The deliveries are going to be made directly to customers’ properties or gardens and lowered with a cable from the air.
