Dasung Paperlike Color is touted as the world’s first portable 12″ color E-ink monitor, but that title comes with a hefty price tag, or $849 USD to be exact. Featuring a native resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, it’s based on the E Ink Kaleido 3 color screen and designed to greatly reduce eye strain since the monitor reflects ambient light instead of emitting its own.
Like the company’s other displays, this one also uses Dasung Turbo, a chip that offers faster refresh speeds, virtually zero latency, and smoother animations when playing video. Users can either use it as a standalone secondary monitor or screen mirroring on smartphones / tablets. Measuring 5.3mm thick and weighing just 439g, the Dasung Paperlike Color should easily fit into any laptop backpack.
