Portable USB-C Touchscreen Monitor Brass DIY Perks
Inventor Matthew Perks wanted a truly unique USB-C touchscreen monitor, one that you can’t buy from stores, and this creation is the result. First, he acquired a laptop to standalone monitor conversion set for the enclosure as well as display panel. Next, the classy enclosure had to be completed, which consists of brass sheets as well as U-channel pieces soldered and screwed together.

He then added a pair of adjustable legs so it would be able to stand on flat surfaces, while a second slot on the back holds the control board, a smartphone battery, along with a battery protection circuit. To add game console compatibility, whether it be the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, a pair of removable speakers were added, or more specifically sealed speaker units covered in brass mesh and plate.
