
There’s the 3D-printed Brewintosh, and then this custom $14 Macintosh that could be the cheapest build we’ve seen yet. It basically uses a Raspberry Pi Pico to emulate the Macintosh 128K experience, complete with the feel of screens from that era as well.
Achieving the look of screens from that era requires a “hat” for the Pi Pico, which essentially enables the board’s remaining system resources send the video signal from the emulated Mac out over VGA. A microSD card slot gives this custom Macintosh far more storage space than its retro counterpart.
