Remember GoldenEye 007 on the N64? If so, think of Agent 64: Spies Never Die as a modern remake, complete with split-screen multiplayer. This game aims to bring back memories of the 90s console golden age by having players assume the role of John Walter, who is an ex-agent (codenamed 64) called back into action to save the world once more.
The developers state that each story mission is its own self contained environment where players have to achieve various objectives like hacking terminals, stealing secret plans or freeing civilian hostages. Plus, the split-screen multiplayer mode will be compatible with custom player-made maps once the modkit gets released. One caveat: there’s no definitive release date just yet. Multiplayer modes have been the number one request from agents. And even under tense questioning, I’ve always tried not to spill the beans on a project that I wasn’t quite sure could be done. But today I finally get to announce it! Couch Coop and DM will be featured on release. Up to 4 players both in PvE and PvP modes!,” said the developers.
