You’ve seen the production Jetson ONE, so it’s only fitting that another company tries to take the crown from them, or at least eventually. Introducing the AltoVolo Sigma, a hybrid-electric eVTOL targeting the private market that combines electric motors with a fuel-based generator to significantly extends its range.
The company says it has a 510 mile range, way more than most eVTOLs, which usually manage 20-160 miles. Engineers aim for a cruising speed of 220 mph, making it one of the fastest eVTOLs being developed. Sigma holds three passengers and is designed for “jet-setters” traveling between city spots and other places like rooftops or yachts.

It’s supposed to make 80% less noise than a helicopter, perfect for neighborhoods. In size, it’s fairly small at 15.7 ft wide, about as big as a double garage door, and weighs 2,160 lb with passengers included. It has a 1,608-hp powertrain with backup systems to keep flying if one jet fails, plus self-flying tech from Embention.

Simply put, the AltoVolo Sigma looks cool and ambitious, with game-changing range, speed, and capacity that set it apart from the Jetson ONE. Its hybrid-electric design and luxury focus make it a potential helicopter rival, while the Jetson ONE is a fully electric, single-seat “flying sports car” for immediate, recreational fun.
The Sigma is a statement of intent, reimagining the way we live and travel on our planet. We are building the fastest point to point transport solution and have already achieved significant breakthroughs to make this happen,” said Will Wood, founder and CEOs AltoVolo.
