Technology Wayne Ma claims that Apple is reportedly developing at least two foldable iPhone prototypes, with one of them having a Galaxy Z Flip-like form factor. The project was purportedly put on hold in 2020, as the company focused on building an inward folding iPad, similar in size to the iPad Mini.

Unfortunately, the handset is still very early in the development process, which means it most certainly won’t launch before the next iteration of the standard iPhone. One thing that might be stalling the process is that Apple engineers want the foldable iPhone to be thin when unfolded, or around half the thickness of the current models, complete with an outward-facing display. However, we may still see a foldable iPad sooner than later.
