Apple Watch Series 5
It’s here, the next-generation Apple Watch Series 5. Unlike its predecessors, this model sports an “Always-On Retina display” that never sleeps, so you’ll be able to catch the time and other important information without having to raise or tap the screen. New location features include built-in compass to help users better navigate their day, while international emergency calling enables you to call emergency services directly from Apple Watch in over 150 countries, even without iPhone nearby. The Apple Watch Series 5 is also available in a wider range of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic and titanium. Each watch face has been optimized for the new always-on display to preserve battery life, as the screen intelligently dims when a user’s wrist is down and returns to full brightness with a raise or a tap. It also boasts the industry’s only low-temperature polysilicone and oxide display (LTPO), ultra-low power display driver, efficient power management integrated circuit and new ambient light sensor.

The GPS model ($399) is available to order in 41 countries and regions today, while the GPS + Cellular ($499) is available to order in 22 countries and regions. Both will be available in stores starting Friday, September 20th.

“We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6. The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
