iPhone Privacy Screen
Hate people snooping in on your smartphone conversations? So was this iPhone XR owner, and their solution was to create a clever privacy filter that requires special glasses to view. How does it work? The screen appears blank and white to people at first, but put on special glasses with a polarizing filter, and you’re able to see everything.

To make this work, you’ll need a spare iPhone XR LCD, a piece of polarizing filter, a pair of 3D glasses, scissors, a prying tool and a craft knife. First, you need to pry open and remove the display casing, before cutting around the side of the screen. Next, strip the layer of tough film – the top polarizing filter – off the screen in pieces. It’s this film that enables the iPhone XR owner to see what is displayed on their screen. You make the glasses by tracing round the lenses and cutting out the right shapes from a new piece of polarizing film.
