A recently approved patent filing could be a sneak peek at the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 2 and if the rumors are true, at least one model will come with a microLED screen. Aside from the new screen technology, it could have a detachable watch segment sporting a camera at the bottom.

This future Apple Watch would allow the user to quickly attach and detach the watch housing from their wrist. A wrist band with a magnetic nest-type mechanism means that one would only have to remove the watch segment without having to remove the entire housing to make use of a camera. There’s no word yet on availability, but rumors point towards either a late 2024 or 2025 release.
