It’s only a matter of time before Apple officially unveils their self-driving car project, but just this week, one of their test vehicles was spotted in the wild with 6 Velodyne LIDAR sensors, multiple radar units, and a host of cameras. “Earlier this year, Apple caused a stir when it applied for and received a permit to test autonomous vehicles on public roads in California. We do know, from various reports that Apple has ditched its ambitions to build an entirely new vehicle from scratch and has instead shifted focused to building autonomous software it could develop for existing carmakers,” reports The Verge.
