Ghostbusters fanatic Loren Baldwin spent 2.5-years and $20,000 converting a 1959 Miller-Meteor chassis into a replica of the movie’s famous Ecto-1 vehicle.
To make sure everything was accurate on this 8-foot tall, 4-ton vehicle, he flew down to Los Angeles and spent a full day obtaining measurements from the original film car. Details include a movie accurate ‘storage tank’ for captured ghosts, 390 cubic inch V8 engine, and even working blue lights.
- This model car is a stunning replica of the iconic Ghostbusters car, the ECTO-1, based on the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex
- The car features spookily good details: working steering, a trapdoor with a ghost trap, an extending gunner seat & a moving ghost sniffer
- A delight for adult Ghostbusters: Afterlife fans, it includes the Proton Pack, which swivels out of a side panel to trap ghouls and ghosts

All the lights and sirens work – I have the same exact siren that appeared in the movie. I have a five panel mirror in the car because there are a lot of blind spots because it is 21ft long. It doesn’t go more than 65 miles per hour – it’s not very aerodynamic,” said Baldwin.
