Artificial Intelligence Historical Figures Look Today

Artificial intelligence can be used for many things, including to show how famous historical figures, like Benjamin Franklin and Audrey Hepburn, would look today. Turkey-based photographer Alper Yesiltas created these AI-generated portraits for his ‘Thisness’ project, using a variety of photo enhancing software as well as editing programs.

All of these portraits were generated using actual photographs of the historical figure since AI is not quite advanced enough yet to create hyper-realistic portraits from text prompts alone. Other notable figures include Amelia Earhart, Henry Ford, Rosa Parks and more. It might not be long until we see some of these in actual Hollywood movies. For those interested in generating images from simple text descriptions, there’s OpenAI’s DALL-E 2.
