While not as recognizable as Johnny 5, the Ascento Guard was designed for a more practical purpose as a next-generation security robot. It can be used to patrol malls or other areas for bad actors, check doors as well as windows, identify fires, verify perimeter integrity and even maintain order in parking lots.
Ascento Guard has a rolling speed of 3.1 mph and can be autonomously charged without human intervention. Most importantly, the robot can be deployed within hours of unboxing it, saving companies’ precious time who need a security solution immediately. A free Ascento App can be used to analyze video and images with AI. The system can also be integrated with existing video management software, complete with end-to-end encryption. Ascento has just received $4.3-million in the latest funding round, led by Wingman Ventures and Playfair Capital.
