Inside the box, you get the earbuds themselves, three pairs of ear tips, three pairs of in-ear hooks, and a microUSB cable. The device itself felt light, but very well built, and the magnetic function is as simple as clipping the two ends together – no extra steps necessary to ensure a secure fit. The controls are located on the left earbud, and includes volume controls. Pairing just requires turning your compatible device on, switch over to Bluetooth settings, search for “AUKEY EP-B40”, and you’re ready to jam. Or, you could also answer calls, at the push of a button, using its 6th generation cVc noise-cancelling microphone.
We tested the earbuds with a variety of different music, and found the bass to be punchy, but not to the point of distortion. The mids were very rich and warm, without sounding too muddy, while highs were crisp, but how much so really depends on the audio quality. Worried about bringing it to the gym or hiking?
