Called the Aloha Unleashed project, these two robotic Aloha 2 manipulator arms can now repair other robots in addition to autonomously performing various tasks, while also adapting to placement issues in real-time.
To achieve this, the team upgraded the arms with a low-friction rail to enable them to grasp smaller objects, added smaller RealSense cameras for a broader field of view, and a new desktop frame made from aluminum sporting a vision camera overhead.
