Shotaro Kaneda’s bike from Akira is the iconic motorcycle that fans of the manga series are familiar with, and some of them have created real-life versions including Barcelona-based Bel&Bel. This creation is based on a Yamaha Majesty YP 250 scooter, with a single-sided swingarm sourced from a Honda VFR 800.
The prototype is powered by a 250cc Yamaha motorcycle engine in the rear combined with a 1,000-W electric hub motor up front. However, the studio does plan on making a production model equipped with a 72-V/5,000-W mid-drive motor that makes 383.5 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to hit 62 mph in 6-seconds flat while topping out at 93.2 mph. How much will it cost? A cool $26,127 USD.
