Big Bud 16V-747 World's Largest Tractor
Big Bud 16V-747 is currently the world’s largest farm tractor, built in Havre, Montana in 1977. This 1100 horsepower beast is about twice the size of many of the largest production tractors in the world, depending on parameter. The United Tire Company of Canada, which made the tractor’s custom 8-foot tires, went bankrupt in 2000, which meant the tractor could not be used for regular work starting in July 2009. The Williams Brothers stepped into make new wheels, spacers, and eight Goodyear LSW1400/30r46 tires, which are also the world’s largest agricultural tires. These new tires brought the width of the Big Bud to just over 25-feet. Previously, it was displayed at the Heartland Acres Agribition Center in Independence, Iowa, but these new tires may change that.
