The new Boom Overture supersonic jet is set to go into production by 2024 and enter service in 2029 with at least one major airline carrier, starting with United Airlines. It’s capable of transporting between 65โ80 passengers at twice the speed of today’s airliners, all running on 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This aircraft can achieve Mach 1.7 over water with a range of 4,250 nautical miles.
Power comes from four powerful, wing-mounted engines that no only reduces noise, but also decreasing costs for airline operators. Overture features the world’s first automated noise reduction system, which means that it will fly without afterburners, thus meeting the same strict regulatory noise levels as the latest subsonic airplanes. Its wings are sculpted to enhance supersonic performance as well as improve subsonic and transonic handling. Back on the ground, we have this supersonic baseball cannon that you definitely shouldn’t mess with.

Aviation has not seen a giant leap in decades. Overture is revolutionary in its design, and it will fundamentally change how we think about distance. With more than 600 routes across the globe, Overture will make the world dramatically more accessible for tens of millions of passengers,” said Blake Scholl, Boom Founder and CEO.
