Bright Memory Infinite developer FYQD-Studio took just 2 hours to create this incredible ‘Secluded Orchid’ tech demo in Unreal Engine 5. A total of 5,000 8K resolution photos were used to generate high-resolution 3D models for the demo, which were then imported into Unreal Engine 5 to compile into what you’re about to see.
Unreal Engine 5.3‘s Nanite boasts faster performance for masked materials, including foliage, and can represent a greater range of surfaces due to the new Explicit Tangents option. In other words, this is why some of the foliage in Secluded Orchid looks so photorealistic. As for Lumen with Hardware Ray Tracing, it now includes multiple reflection bounces, and delivers faster performance on consoles.

This is the first time we have ever used a motion capture system in our projects. The motions used in the demo took about 20 minutes to prepare so the quality is still a little rough around the edges. At the time we were using an inertial sensor motion capture system which has improved efficiency compared to manual keyframe animation,” said FYQD-Studio.
