Why wait 30-minutes to 1-hour at a supercharger for 248-miles of range, when the BYD 1,000-kW ‘Megawatt’ charging station can do it in just 5-minutes? Vehicles built on the company’s ‘Super e-Platform,’ powered by blade batteries, will be compatible with these new chargers.
These batteries have a has a 10 C charging multiplier, the highest of any mass-produced power battery in the world, which means they can be fully charged in one-tenth of an hour. It supports charging voltages of up to 1,000 V and charging currents of up to 1,000 A, enabling power output of up to 1,000 kW (kilowatt). This is double the 500-kW peak power of Tesla’s latest V4 supercharger. The first two EVs built on the ‘Super e-Platform’ are the Han L sedan and Tang L SUV, both of which start at around $37,000 USD.
