Monolith Productions was set to release a Batman game based on Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, codenamed Project Apollo, but it never came to fruition, as Warner Bros. canceled the title ahead of its release. Gameplay would be similar to the Arkham game series, but with the addition of Monolith’s Nemesis System.
What is the Nemesis System? Well, the game’s enemies are programmed to remember previous fights and adapt their plan of attack for future encounters. The most likely reason for the cancellation is probably due to the fact that Rocksteady was also developing Batman: Arkham Knight at the time, thus releasing both during similar time periods would have cannibalized the sales of the other.
