China Giant Meteoroid
A sun-like ball of fire was spotted flashing across the sky in China’s Yushu City, and it literally turned night into day. Researchers haven’t yet confirmed that this is actually a meteoroid or some other unidentified flying object, but some experts claim it could be a bolide, an extremely bright meteor. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, though some structures may have been damaged by small meteorite fragments.

Dan Ba, a local who lives in Yushu City, spotted the meteorite when taking his kid to school, and said that the bolide started as a small ball, but after three minutes, it was as large as the Sun. The China Earthquake Networks Center said it had recorded the incident and suspects that the bolide landed near the border between Nangqian County and Yusu County at 7.25 am.
