Bethesda confirmed today at QuakeCon 2019 that the classic DOOM 1-3 games are being re-released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today – DOOM 1-2 will also be available on iOS and Android mobile devices. Priced from $4.99 – $9.99 on the Nintendo eShop, you’ll get four-player deathmatch and co-op modes, with the first game including the Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed expansion. DOOM II also comes with Master Levels add-on, while Doom III adds the Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Missions expansion packs. Read more for two videos and additional information.
As you read in the title, if you’re playing the Nintendo Switch versions, an internet connection is required to play. DOOM and DOOM 2 can be played offline after logging in to your Bethesda account, while DOOM 3 needs a persistent connection “to access certain features and / or content.” This marks the very first time that DOOM III has been ported to a Nintendo console, or at least officially.
