While the Ivory Coast is touted as the world’s largest producer and exporter of cocoa beans used in the manufacturing of chocolate, many of the cocoa farmers have never tasted the fruits of their labor. This is due to the fact that they are paid very little (€7 per day split between many people) and a chocolate bar costs approximately €2.
