Programmer Nilius Julius wanted to do something really special for his friend’s wedding, and what better way to do so than a custom Nintendo Game Boy cartridge? This isn’t a simple rebranding of an existing game, but rather a custom program that was written in C using GBDK-2020. As for the box, it was designed in Photoshop before being printed on a sheet of A3 photo paper and cutting the main image out.
When you insert the cartridge and start up the Game Boy Pocket, the player is greeted with either a ‘ja’ or ‘nee’ (Dutch), which translates to yes or no, If both parties select ‘ja’ then a ‘gefeliciteerd’ message is shown to congratulate the newly wed couple. If a random person stumbled upon this box with game cartridge inside, many would assume it came straight from Nintendo.

Game Boy is a Game Boy pocket with backlit screen and custom labeling (had to remove some identifieable info). Game is on a custom home-made cartridge and in a custom box,” said its creator.
