Making its global debut at Monterey Car Week, the Czinger 21C Blackbird Edition hypercar was inspired by the actual SR-71 high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. It’s powered by a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 2.88L V8 engine, paired with two electric motors, that generate a combined 1,350 hp, mated to a seven-speed sequential transaxle.
Unlike the standard 21C, the Blackbird Edition features ample exposed carbon fiber body pieces and ultra sleek wheels with spokes shaped like the Mach 3+ aircraft. The cabin sports two orange trimmed seats designed to resemble the glow from an afterburner in a tandem seating design, with a yoke-style steering wheel as well as an LED screen in front. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
