One man who goes by XiaoHao2 on Reddit used his DJI drone to capture rarely seen images of Sinuiju in North Korea. This city faces Dandong, Liaoning, China – located across the international border of the Yalu River – and is the capital of the North P’yลngan province.
It’s currently illegal to fly drones in North Korea, but these images were captured during 2020 approximately 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) across the North Korean-China border. This city is an important light industry center with plants manufacturing enameled ironware. There’s also a textile mill, paper mill and an afforestation factory.

This kind of drone has its own GPS. Do you think DJI doesnโt know about it after flying around like this? If this post goes viral on the Internet, the domestic security department will definitely be unhappy,” said one commenter.
