New DJI Osmo Action 6 photos from FCC filings and test units have surfaced, showing a camera that’s more watch-friendly than ever. As the successor to the Action 5 Pro, this one promises better footage as well as improved controls.

Spy shots online show a slightly bigger body than the Action 5 Pro, room for a bigger sensor inside. The ridged lens bezel stands out from the smooth one on the Action 5 Pro, maybe for better light handling or durability. No word from DJI yet but the schedule points to a mid-October reveal with shipments in early November.

Tap your Apple Watch or Garmin to start recording, switch modes or stop the action altogether. The camera reads data directly from the watch – speed increases in real time, heart rate on screen, distance accumulates as you move. Altitude shifts and trajectory lines draw your journey into the video, turning raw footage into a story with built-in context. Garmin users get features like power output on a bike ride or dive depth in cold water.

A 1-inch CMOS sensor replaces the smaller one in the Action 5 Pro, bringing in more light for dawn patrols or twilight runs when shadows hide details. Video resolution reaches 8K at 30fps, then 5.3K at 60 or 4K at 120 for smooth slow-mo of a perfect wave or jump. Even 1080p achieves 240fps, enough to stretch seconds into epic scenes. A 10-bit D-Log M profile and over 13.5 stops of dynamic range bring colors to life, so highlights don’t blow out and shadows reveal. RockSteady 4.0 improves stability, while AI sharpens HorizonSteady mode to keep horizons level through 360 degrees of chaos.
Storage starts at 47GB and goes up to 64GB in some models with a microSD card. Bluetooth 5.1 for watch handshakes and wireless mics and Wi-Fi 6 for file transfers and live streams to your phone. USB-C for charging and data transfer with a hint of DisplayPort for direct monitor output during editing. Dive rating is 18-20m without a case, splashes or full submersion. 1950mAh battery for almost 4 hours of 4K recording and the whole thing is sealed in a stronger bezel around the edges to protect the new sensor.
Pricing should begin at $339 for the Standard Combo which includes the camera, a couple of mounts and one battery. Upgrade to the Adventure Combo for $479 and you’ll get extra batteries, a case and extra mounts for $50-$100 depending on the trim.
