At $1.7-million, the 2020 EarthRoamer XV-HD expedition vehicle should be called a luxury apartment on wheels. It’s based on a 4WD Ford F-750 chassis powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine generating 330 horsepower and 725 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle measures 35 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, and 13.2 feet tall, complete with 12 inches of ground clearance. It’ll capable of carrying 115 gallons of diesel, 250 gallons of fresh water, 125 gallons of gray water, 125 gallons of black water, and comes equipped with a lithium-ion battery array that can store 20 kWh of energy, along with its roof-mounted solar-power system rated at 2100 watts. Inside, you’ll find a full bathroom with a separate shower, dry bath, washer/dryer, full kitchenette, in-floor radiant heating, a Bose Surround Sound entertainment system, a large sleeping area, and top-of-the-line King Ranch trim in the cab. It’s designed to accommodate up to six people, while rolling on large 46-inch Michelin XVLs.
