Engineered Arts Ameca Humanoid Robot GPT-3 AI Expressions
Engineered Arts’ Ameca humanoid robot just received a GPT-3 AI upgrade and numerous new facial expressions ensued. OpenAI’s autoregressive language model uses deep learning to generate human-like text, which is then processed back into various expressions or speech by Ameca.

Ameca’s modular architecture allows for quick and easy future upgrades, whether it be physical or software. Most importantly, Engineered Arts emphasizes reliability to ensure that all of their robots are built to last in action as well as the real world. The next step would be successfully implementing GPT-4, which for the time being, has a longer processing time, resulting in a less responsive Ameca.

There are many possible applications for humanoid robots Some examples include helping people with disabilities providing assistance in hazardous environments conducting research and acting as a companion. Nothing in this video is pre scripted. The model is given a basic prompt describing Ameca, giving the robot a description of self — its pure AI,” said Morgan Roe, Engineered Arts Director of Operations.
