Epirus Leonidas Anti-Drone Directed Energy High Power Microwave Weapon
Northrop Grumman and Epirus partnered to develop Leonidas, an innovative High Power Microwave (HPM) system designed to protect Forward Operating Bases, fixed sites, and maneuver forces against hostile Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). It features novel digital beamforming, which means Leonidas’ directed energy beam can sweep through entire volumes of airspace at digital speeds, thus creating a forcefield-like effect or precisely target a single system.

Using software-defined waveforms and frequency agile transmission, this weapon can use the same hardware to complete numerous missions, including counter UAS / swarm, vehicle stop, and other counter electronics tasks with its abaility to adapt to the ever evolving threats. Should there be an overwhelming number of drones that need to be taken out, it has a Rapid Fire function capable of pulsing thousands of times per second in precision fire or swarm modes.
