Aliens Dyson Sphere Black Hole Energy
Researchers from the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, led by Tiger Yu-Yang Hsiao, searched for evidence of Dyson spheres, which is a megastructure that completely encompasses a star and captures a large percentage of its power output. However, this time, they were seeking an “inverse Dyson sphere” (IDS), which could technically harvest energy from a black hole in a similar fashion. Not only would the energy output of a black hole exceed that of a star, the waste heat produced from an IDS can actually be detected by our current telescopes. Plus, there are no known metals that could withstand the temperatures of a black hole accretion disk or of plasma jets that shoot out into space from them. Only extremely advanced civilizations, which were born and raised from other stars, are capable of collecting the energy remotely or treating it as a power station.

Usually, accretion disks can provide 10,000 and even more times the energy you would get from a star like the Sun. So instead of hunting 10,000 stars like our Sun, we can just find one black hole and build a Dyson sphere around it and it would be much more efficient,” said Hsiao to IFLScience.
