Fallout 3 Remake Mod

The Capital Wasteland Project, a mod that remakes Fallout 3 into the Fallout 4 engine, had to stop development earlier this year, but it has now resumed. Originally, the project’s co-lead developer (HcGxGrill) paused the project because Bethesda Softworks told him that he couldn’t re-use audio from the third game, and now, the team has decided to re-voice all of the dialogue. “For myself after working for hundreds of hours on this project and then having to stop really made me depressed. Something I had an extreme passion for was suddenly not there anymore. So after taking a few months break, I slowly picked up the pieces and continued my work on the Capital Wasteland,” said the project’s co-lead explained. The team had remade some of the mainline quests from Fallout 3, as well as 40% of the Fallout 3 map with Fallout 4’s technology by this time last year. To speed up the mod process, they are now recruiting level designers, 2D / 3D artists, animators, environment artists and VFX artists.

“With the help of our voice acting lead Unoctium we are working towards re-voicing the lines from Fallout 3. This is a very big undertaking as there are approximately 45,000 voice lines in Fallout 3. We are looking for people to join our team; as of right now we only have a handful of people working on this project,” adds the team.
