Tesla Drive-in Diner Hollywood
Tesla’s first Diner and Drive-In, a 1950s nostalgia meets electric vehicle innovation, is set to open on July 21, 2025 at 7001 West Santa Monica Boulevard. After 7 years of planning, construction and Elon’s vision, this two-story saucer-shaped building is about to change the face of roadside dining.

Construction started in September 2023 and turned a former Shakey’s Pizza site on historic Route 66 into a stainless steel icon. Designed by Stantec, it comes complete with carhop service and neon lighting. Boasting 9,300 sq ft with 3,800 sq ft of enclosed lower level and 5,500 sq ft of outdoor seating and food prep area. We can’t forget about the rooftop bar and dining area with panoramic views of Hollywood’s streets either.

Tesla Drive-in Diner
Inside the diner has bar counters and neon lights creating a warm otherworldly atmosphere. Outside two 45 foot LED screens tower over the parking lot displaying classic movie clips or SpaceX launch footage visible from the charging stalls and the rooftop. Open 7am-11pm, the screens sync audio to your car’s stereo for a drive-in experience. Early tests featured American Graffiti and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Tesla Drive-In Diner
The diner has 75 V4 Supercharger stalls that can charge up to 250 kW for Model S, 3, X and Y and 325 kW for Cybertrucks. Carhop service on roller skates will bring food to your car and Tesla drivers can order via their car’s touchscreen. Elon recently visited and called it “one of LA’s coolest spots”. While open to all EVs for charging, in-car ordering and audio syncing is Tesla exclusive.

Tesla Drive-In Diner
Chef Eric Greenspan (The Foundry on Melrose, Greenspan’s Grilled Cheese) teams up with restaurateur Bill Chait to create a menu of diner classics: burgers, fries, chicken wings, hot dogs, tuna melts, hand-spun milkshakes and cookies. Served in Cybertruck-shaped boxes and metal trays with wooden utensils the food is quality and simple for quick and affordable meals. Open 24/7 possibly with Tesla’s Optimus robot helping out the diner will cater to late night cravings and early commutes.

Tesla Drive-In Diner
Beyond food and charging the diner is a destination. Its location near Hollywood’s busy intersections and the 101 Freeway makes it perfect for locals and tourists. The rooftop with a second bar is a perch to take in the city. Recent photos show activity—workers polishing, Superchargers glowing and an Optimus robot on site, hinting at Tesla’s tech ambitions.
