German designer Konstantin Grcic partnered with Mercedes-Benz to turn a Smart Car into a mobile disco, complete with DJ booth, cabin, mixer, smoke machine and various lighting effects. A forklift-type extension was installed on the rear of Smart’s all-electric EQ Fortwo enable a DJ to elevate above the crowd, while its interior has been modified to accommodate the equipment. “The car concept, which is disappointingly only a one-off model and will not be for sale, takes off from Smart’s links with club culture and is inspired by the idea of drawing people together. It has been realized with the help of Smart’s audio partner JBL who engineered a custom sound system for the car including subwoofer box located in the trunk,” according to Design Boom.
