Autonomous Quadcopter Drone

Forget taxis, residents of Dubai may soon be transported in an autonomous quadcopter drone by China-based eHang. “This is not only a model. We have actually experimented with this vehicle flying in Dubai’s skies,” said Dubai Road & Transportation head Mattar Al Tayer. The eHang 184 is capable of flying up to 23-minutes at a height of 500 meters on a single charge of its lithium batteries. Unlike conventional aircraft, the person inside the drone remains a passenger, while the 184 is preprogrammed to fly to a specific destination before they hop in.
