Mark Atkinson has officially unveiled the BMW K75 “Alpha” land speed racer, a motorcycle he created in partnership with Turkish designer Mehmet Doruk Erdem. It took Atkinson several months for him to build a chassis to fit inside Erdem’s streamliner shell, one inspired by the lines of a Great White shark. Once fully completed, it will be used to race on the Bonneville Salt Flats and hopefully set a record or two. Continue reading for another video, more pictures and information.
“From there, the pair designed and rendered nearly every other piece of this incredible bike before Atkinson built them to exacting tolerances and fit it together piece by piece. The end result is, in a word, glorious. God willing, we’ll get to see some more work from this inspired pairing somewhere down the line,” reports Hi Consumption.
