The GAC Pickup 01 concept, shown at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, clearly takes some ideas from the Tesla Cybertruck with its sharp, futuristic look, but it’s not just a copy. Both have bold lines, simple surfaces, and a sci-fi feel, but the GAC has slightly softer curves and unique touches, like split-level headlights and a less steep wedge shape.
It’s built on the GAIA (GAC Adaptive Intelligent Architecture) platform, which dynamically adjusts the suspension and powertrain to handle city driving, off-road adventures, or carrying heavy loads. This flexibility is a big part of its “OmniTerrain” idea. It includes the X-SouL Safety Shield, a set of high-tech driver-assistance tools. GAC also promises a cabin you can change for work or fun, though they haven’t shared many details.
- Lights and Sounds Silver Truck Toy: Experience Engine Roars and Illuminating Lamps with a Simple Touch
- Pickup Truck Fun: Perfectly Sized at 9.1" x 3.35" x 3.42" (Inches) and Weighing 18 Ounces
- Dynamic Features for Endless Play: Steerable Front Wheel, Shock Absorption on All Four Wheels, and Movable Doors, Hood, and Tailgate

The power details aren’t out yet, but early rumors suggest both fully electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options. This fits GAC’s plan to sell in places like Australia, Chile, and Brazil, where charging stations aren’t always the same.

Since it’s competing with the Tesla Cybertruck and Ford F-150 Lightning, it’s likely to have strong specs—maybe dual or tri-motor setups for the electric version, with 400–600 horsepower to keep up with others in its class. The “OmniTerrain” flexibility hints at great off-road skills, possibly with torque-vectoring all-wheel drive.
