GiGO Akihabara Arcade Building 4 is set to closer on September 25 at 8:00 pm local time in Tokyo, and if this building looks familiar to you that is because it was formerly SEGA World. Fortunately, three more GiGO Akihabara Arcade locations will remain after this one closes, but Building 4 not only housed a plethora of games, but also a cafe used for many collaborative events.
If you do happen to be in the area on September 25th, GiGO Akihabara Building 4 (Tokyo-to, Chiyoda-ku, Sotokanda 1-15-9) will hold some kind of farewell celebration, which could entail food, festivities, and possibly some giveaways, although we don’t expect them to gift any full-sized arcade machines. For those who aren’t able to visit Akihabara before GiGO closes on September 25, you can always turn an old SEGA Dreamcast into an AMD-powered computer.

No! Don’t close it down! This was the arcade where I played [rhythm game] Ongeki for the first time. It’s sacred ground to me. We live in a cruel era. Well, they’ve got a couple of arcades in Akihabara, so I guess it can’t be helped,” said a fan on Twitter.
