Inventor Miroslav Kotalík wasn’t interested in spending hundreds, or even thousands, on a pair of AR glasses. So, he decided to build his own from scratch, and it’s called Zero.
Zero would be considered an all-in-one pair of AR glasses, as it’s powered by Raspberry Pi Zero, runs web apps natively, and doesn’t require an external battery or a hardware attachment. Since you don’t need an internet connection for Zero to function, it should work with any app designed for offline use. This also means that programmers can create an AR app in minutes by simply creating a basic webpage and copying it into the right folder. That’s right, the OS handles sensors, head tracking, and ‘glance’ element selection for you.

The optics collimate the projected light. It’s always in focus, even when looking into distance. You definitely do not have to try focus short distance,” said Kotalik.
