Sure, Craftsman toolboxes may not be architectural masterpieces, like this NYC home made from 18 shipping containers, but the manufacturing process is fascinating to say the least. For starters, it takes massive coils of raw steel that takes a 20-ton crane to move around.
Next, the unrolled pieces of steel are fed into a slitter machine to be cut. On a side note, 7.2 million pounds of steel is recycled at this one factory alone each year. After the coils of steel have been flattened, they are stamped into sheets. Skilled craftsmen and technicians assemble the toolboxes after the metal sheets have been processed by advanced machinery.

As a former factory worker, I find it fascinating that no matter the industry, all production factories seem to be laid out in a similar fashion, from the style of yellow safety barriers, to the red and yellow walking and forklift lanes on the floors. It’s amazing what goes in to what we buy,” said one commenter.
