16TB Portable SSD Amazon Fake
If it sounds too good to be true, the deal probably is, or at least in this case. Someone purchased a 16TB portable SSD off Amazon for what seemed to be a steal, but little did they know there was just a 64GB microSD card inside rather instead of a series of interconnected 256GB – 1TB flash memory chips.

Portable SSDs typically function identically to internal SSDs, using memory and processors to access as well as store data for long-term use. They utilize a grid of electrical cells to send and receive stored data, operating just like flash drives. As you can see on the box of this fake SSD, it makes several false claims, including USB 3.0 Micro B to USB 3.1 Typc_c (Gen 1) and it being an M.2 Portable SSD. What you really get is a 64GB microSD attached to a circuit board of sorts with a USB-C adapter that can be used to connect to your device.
