Think of it as IKEA’s version of a Sonos speaker, and the SYMFONISK range includes table lamp ($179) and bookshelf ($99) WiFi speakers. Both are compatible with Sonos own product range for seamless integration and can be navigated through the Sonos app. The former combines light and sound
into one product, keeping your home organized with less devices and cords. You can either tuck the bookshelf speaker away or put it on display vertically or horizontally – the included bracket can support up to 6.6 lbs. Read more for a video review, hands-on pictures and additional information.
What’s the bottom line? The table lamp is exactly as it sounds, a light source, but with the added functionality of a Sonos speaker and sound quality comparable to the Play:1. For something that can be more easily hidden, you might want to opt for the bookshelf speaker as it can slide right between a set of books and hidden from most eyes at first glance.

“We knew from the start that we wanted to challenge the traditional high-tech aesthetics. The lamp-speaker partly springs from the idea of the fireplace – one single piece that spreads warm light as well as sound,” said Iina Vuorivirta, one of the designers of SYMFONISK lamp-speaker at IKEA of Sweden.
