IKEA VINDSTYRKA Smart Sensor Air Quality
Accurately tracking indoor quality just got a lot easier, thanks to the IKEA VINDSTYRKA. This smart air quality sensor not only measures, but also lets you monitor indoor air pollutant levels. Since particulate matter (PM2.5) is not visible with the naked eye, VINDSTYRKA’s display shows the current PM2.5 levels, humidity, temperature, and total volatile organic compound (TVOC).

You could also connect it to DIRIGERA, a hub for smart products, indoor air quality levels can then be monitored via the IKEA Home smart app. Within the app, can VINDSTYRKA be set to trigger other smart devices, making air quality levels actionable. If paired with IKEA’s existing smart air purifier STARKVIND, its fan speed can be automatically adjusted in correlation with the amount of PM2.5 in the air, ensuring a consistent flow of clean air in the home. Available in all markets this April, with pricing yet to be announced.

Although we spend most of our time indoors, many of us tend to forget about indoor air pollution. We take for granted that the air in our homes is clean, but small everyday activities like cooking or cleaning can contribute to poor air quality just as much as industry or traffic. With VINDSTYRKA, our ambition has been to create an affordable high-performing air quality sensor to help our customers become more aware of the quality of the air they breathe in their homes,” said Henrik Telander, Product owner at IKEA of Sweden.
