Always wanted to explore an anime version of Tokyo? Well, thanks to game developer Yan Ru, it’s now possible. It’s called Project Anime Tokyo and the current demo lets you explore Shibuya, including the 109 department store, with a number of more districts set to be added in the next several months.
You explore the city as a purple-haired anime character, and if you go down the wrong street or area, ‘Area Closed’ banners start popping up. One thing you’ll immediately notice is that there is very little bustle, although the background noise does add a nice touch. Want to take a screenshot? Simply enter photo mode by pressing ‘P’. Best of all, this 1.7GB project is entirely free for you to download and explore directly from Yan Ru’s Artstation page. Download it here now.
