iPhone Tetris

EA has released a slew of new iPhone applications, including Tetris, Scrabble, and Sudoku. Price from $7.99, these games make full-use of the iPhone’s multi-touch display. Continue reading for our overview. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Tetris

Unlike its predecessors, this version of Tetris features 15-levels, Marathon/Magic modes, and touchscreen functionality. To rotate blocks, simply tap anywhere on the screen, and moving them around is just as easy — slide your fingers in the wanted direction. Background music is very enjoyable and upbeat. Graphics were classically-inspired, but had a modern touch. Overall, we give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Scrabble

If you’ve always been a fan of Scrabble, this version will not disappoint. Whether it be zooming in/out, dragging/dropping, or even shuffling tiles, a simple shake/flick gets the job done. To help you out even more, the “Best Word” function chooses the most favorable word from your tiles. Gamers can either play alone, take on the computer, or “pass ‘n play”. This game gets 4.0 out of 5 stars, only because it would occasionally crash the iPhone.

Sudoku

How does five difficulty levels and 10,000 grids sound? Look no further than EA’s Sudoku for the iPhone. More than just nice graphics, you’ll find candidate numbers auto-fill, error checking, and even hints. Like the other titles, this one also uses the touchscreen for navigation. We’re still learning the game, but it definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
