Italdesign’s Quintessenza concept arrives at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, and it’s designed for individuals seeking a vehicle for urban travel with their families, but who also like to get away solo to deepen their connection with the natural world.
Power comes from three electric motors – one in the front axle and two in-wheel motors at the rear axle – generating a combined 778 hp, enabling it to hit 62 mph in under 3-seconds. On a full charge, you can expect up to 466 miles of driving range. What sets Quintessenza apart from other EVs is its removable rear hatch. When removed, the second row of seats can be spun around to face the rear. There’s no word yet on if this concept will go into production.

For the Beijing Auto China, one of the most important motor shows in the world, in the year of the Dragon. We drew inspiration from the four elements of Matter, Earth, Water, Air and Fire, and the fifth constituent element that to us is the Human Being: Quintessenza means to be precisely the fusion of all five elements, and it is sure to captivate the media and everyone attending the event,” said Joaquin Garcia, Italdesign Head of Design.
